This isn’t a chemical pesticide. S.M.T. is a foliar wash that works through mechanical action:
- Disrupts the protective film of spider mites
- Blocks spiracles → causes mites to die from dehydration
- Washes away eggs and larvae from the leaves
- Removes dust, honeydew, and mild mold from leaf surfaces
Biggest advantage: No residue – can even be used during the flowering stage.

Cannot replace an IPM program
It’s just a foliar wash, not a systemic pesticide.
Requires repeated spraying
Every 3 days for 7-10 days → to ensure full effectiveness.
