Jobs and Careers: Roles, Skills and Hiring in the Industry

Work in the cannabis and hemp industry: positions offered, people looking, and the wider question of which skills actually transfer into it. Growers, laboratory staff, quality and compliance officers, processing technicians and commercial roles.

Most of the hiring difficulty in this region is a mismatch rather than a shortage. Licensed production needs documentation discipline, quality systems and horticultural competence at scale, which is a different profile from an experienced small-room grower, and both sides tend to discover this after an offer rather than before it.

Two things make a post here work. An advertisement should say the location, whether the role is on site, the scope of the job and something about the range, because a post with none of those is read as a fishing expedition. And a person looking for work should say what they have actually run rather than what they have read about, including scale, substrate and whether they have worked under a certification regime.

There are no reference articles in this sub-board yet; postings from both sides are what it is for.
