What to post here:
- Harvest timing: trichome readiness, flush schedules and chop-day tips. Trichomes are the tiny resin glands on the buds, and their colour under a magnifier shows how mature the plant is. Flushing means giving only plain water for the last days before harvest. Chop day is the day you cut the plants down.
- Drying & curing methods: rack drying (buds laid on mesh racks), hang drying (whole branches hung upside down), humidity control and cure jars. Cure jars are sealed jars where dried buds rest so the moisture evens out and the aroma develops.
- Extraction & concentrates:
- rosin: resin pressed out with heat and pressure, with no solvent
- BHO (butane hash oil): resin dissolved out of the plant with butane gas
- ethanol extraction: resin dissolved out with alcohol
- distillation: heating an extract to separate and purify the cannabinoids
- Solventless & hash: “solventless” means no solvent is used.
- bubble hash and ice water extraction: resin glands are knocked off in ice-cold water and caught in mesh bags
- dry sift: resin sieved from dried flower through fine screens
- temple balls: hash rolled into balls and aged
- Before-and-after results: compare what you harvested with the dried, cured or extracted product. Share your yields, potency tests and terpene profiles. A potency test is a lab result showing how much THC and CBD the product contains. A terpene profile is the mix of aroma compounds measured in the flower.
Translator’s note: In Thailand and much of Southeast Asia, harvest often falls in the rainy season. Temperatures are 30–35 °C and the air is very humid. Buds then dry slowly and can grow mould. A power cut also stops the fans and dehumidifiers that keep the drying room dry. When you post about drying, give your room’s temperature and humidity readings and say what you do during power cuts. Translator’s note: BHO uses butane, which is a flammable gas. Butane vapour can build up indoors and explode from a single spark, so do not try it at home. Thai law also limits who may make extracts. The Ministerial Regulation on Cannabis or Hemp Extracts B.E. 2569 came into force on 26 April 2026. Under it, extracts above 0.2% THC are licensed only to these three groups:
- Thai juristic persons that are not “foreign” under the Foreign Business Act B.E. 2542
- state agencies
- the Thai Red Cross Society
An individual grower cannot get this licence. We could not confirm from the official text whether solventless products such as rosin and hash count as “extracts” under this regulation. Do not assume they are exempt. Before you make any extract, read the explainer on the 2026 regulations.

Processing or selling a controlled herb without a licence carries up to 1 year in prison and/or a fine of up to 20,000 baht. This penalty is set by Section 78 of the Thai Traditional Medicine Protection Act B.E. 2542.
