German Trade Fairs 2026–2027 for Growers in Thailand and Southeast Asia: Full Calendar, Events That Do Not Exist and Searching Exhibitor Lists (Part 2 of 2)

Germany holds more trade fairs linked to cannabis and medicinal plants than any other country in Europe, but few of them bring you to buyers of raw plant material. This part gives the full calendar from September 2026 to November 2027, including a few events in neighbouring countries. It lists event names that appear online but do not exist. It also shows how to search exhibitor lists for real partners and states what could not be verified. It is for growers and exporters in Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and the wider region.

Only four of these events bring you face to face with people who sign supply contracts: IPM ESSEN, CPHI Frankfurt, ICBC Berlin and the Bernburger Winterseminar. A GACP certificate alone does not let you sell flower in Germany. GACP (Good Agricultural and Collection Practices) is the set of farm-level rules for growing and harvesting medicinal plants. You also need batch release at an EU-GMP site, meaning a site licensed under the EU’s rules for making medicines. On top of that, the importer needs a German licence. Part 1 explains all three layers.

This is Part 2. Part 1: Germany Trade Fairs 2026–2027: Where Cannabis and Medicinal Plant Buyers Actually Are

Full calendar, September 2026 to November 2027

Dates and venues come from each organiser’s own website unless the last column says otherwise. “Third-party only” means no official source was found, so treat that row as unconfirmed.

Some words in the table explained:

  • Grow-shop trade: shops that sell growing supplies, and the companies that supply them.
  • Nutraceuticals: food supplements and food ingredients sold for a health benefit.
  • Certified organic goods only: BIOFACH accepts only products that carry an organic certification.
  • GMP: Good Manufacturing Practice, the rules for making medicines. EU-GMP is the European Union version.

Translator’s note: Any event dated before the day you read this has already taken place. Use those rows as a guide to the next edition, and check the new dates on the organiser’s website. For trade fairs in Asia, see this calendar of Asian events.

Pick no more than two events that match what you sell, using the four-event guide in Part 1. About two months before each one, check the dates again on the organiser’s site. Several 2027 dates were still pending when this calendar was made.

Event names that do not exist

The names below appear in search results, on event-listing sites and in second-hand advice. Each one was checked on the website of the company that owns the name.

  • Cannabis Europa: it has never held a German edition. It runs in London and Paris only.
  • CannaCon: a United States event with no German edition.
  • A German “International Cannabis Expo”: no such event exists. The name is most likely a mix-up with ICBC.
  • Expo Cannabis: a Latin American brand with no German edition.
  • “Mary Jane Netherlands”: does not exist. Mary Jane is held in Berlin only.
  • “Hanfmesse”: an ordinary German word meaning “hemp fair”, not the name of a particular event.
  • LABVOLUTION, Hanover: its 2025 edition was cancelled, and no later edition has been announced.
  • CannaTrade, Zurich: it runs every two years. The May 2026 edition is over and there is no 2027 edition.
  • analytica, Munich: the next edition is 25–28 April 2028, which is after this calendar ends.
  • interpack, Düsseldorf: the next edition is 10–15 June 2029, which is also after this calendar ends.

If an agent or contact suggests one of these names, ask for the organiser’s official website before you pay for anything.

One event is worth following, even though it is not a trade fair. The Medicinal Cannabis Congress in Berlin held its seventh edition on 28–29 May 2026 at Charité, Berlin’s university hospital. The eighth edition has not been announced. It reaches the doctors who prescribe cannabis, and none of the trade fairs on this list do. If you want to understand what German doctors prescribe and why, watch for the eighth edition to be announced.

Finding partners in exhibitor lists: the expopharm example

This section is for anyone who looks for partners in a fair’s online exhibitor directory. expopharm is the trade fair of the German pharmacy sector. Its 2026 directory has 551 entries.

You can filter the directory by product group “01.19 Cannabis”, which gives 23 companies. You can also filter by the topic tag “Medizinal Cannabis” (medical cannabis), which gives 15. Together the two filters give 26 companies. Yet several of Germany’s largest importers and distributors of medical cannabis are among the 551 entries without showing up under either filter.

This happens because each exhibitor picks its own tags, and the organiser does not standardise them. A search using the obvious keyword will regularly miss companies that described themselves another way.

The same fact can work in your favour. The companies most worth approaching often carry two tags together: “Betäubungsmittel” (narcotics handling) and “Heilpflanzen” (medicinal plants). That pair suggests the company has licensed facilities for handling controlled substances, not just a commercial interest in cannabis. At expopharm 2026, four companies carried three or four of the relevant tags. None of the four has “cannabis” in its name.

A tag gives you a lead, not proof. You still have to check directly whether a company holds a §4 MedCanG licence. That is the German operating licence an importer of medical cannabis needs. It is issued by the Federal Opium Agency, which is part of BfArM, Germany’s Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices.

Use the directory in this order:

  1. Open the full exhibitor list, not only the cannabis filter. The filter misses companies that tagged themselves differently.
  2. Filter by “Betäubungsmittel” and by “Heilpflanzen”, and note the companies that appear under both. These are the most likely licensed handlers.
  3. Read each company’s own website to see what it actually imports and processes.
  4. Email each one before the fair. Ask for their §4 MedCanG licence and how they get the import authorisation for each shipment. A clear answer shows whether they can legally take your product.

Translator’s note: The directory tags in this example are German words. You can use a translation tool to read company pages. Search with the German tag words, though, because an English search term may not match how exhibitors tagged themselves.

What could not be verified

The gaps are listed here so that nobody builds a plan on them:

  • The exact 2027 dates for expopharm in Düsseldorf and for INTERPHARM have not been announced.
  • CNBS Expo Dortmund 2027 and CB Expo 2027 have no official source at all.
  • Stand prices for CPHI Frankfurt and ICBC Berlin are given only as quotes, and no quote was obtained.
  • No reliable published figure was found for the usual cost or turnaround time of putting one batch through EU-GMP release. Each facility negotiates its own price. If someone quotes you a “standard price”, ask what it leaves out.
  • Floor area for several events was not found on official sources. Founding years for CPHI, ACHEMA, MEDICA, Cannafair and Cultiva were not found either.

All visitor and exhibitor numbers in both parts come from the organisers. Unless an audit is mentioned, nobody independent has checked them. Fair organisers publish attendance figures partly to market their event, so treat them as estimates.

Before you commit money, get written quotes for any stand you are considering. Ask at least two EU-GMP facilities for a batch-release quote that lists exactly what is included. Then compare the quotes line by line, so you know the real cost of each batch before you agree a price with a buyer.

If you have exhibited at or visited any event in this calendar, post what you found below this topic. Other growers in the region can use your experience to plan their own trips.
