Between September 2026 and the end of 2027, only two countries in Asia have a verified cannabis or hemp trade fair: Thailand and Japan. This calendar was built from each organiser’s own website, not from listing sites that copy old dates. It shows which fairs are worth your travel budget and which have no date yet. It also shows which have stopped but still appear in search results.
No verified cannabis, hemp or kratom trade fair was found anywhere else in Asia in this period. The list includes Korea, China, India, Israel, the Gulf states and every Southeast Asian country except Thailand. In Thailand, business-to-business fairs are now held only in Bangkok. These are events where companies meet suppliers and buyers, not shows for the general public. Outside Bangkok, the fairs have either stopped or shrunk into small community competitions.
Part 1 covers the main events and the full Thai calendar. Part 2 covers three things: Japan’s rules for bringing product samples, why the rest of Asia has no events, and three non-cannabis fairs where raw-material buyers go.
Before you plan a trip
The calendar was compiled in mid-September 2026. An event listed as “no date announced” may have published a date since then. Before you book travel, open the organiser’s website and confirm the date and venue again. This takes a few minutes and keeps you from paying for a trip to an event that has moved or stopped.
Two limits apply to every event below. First, all exhibitor and visitor numbers come from the organisers and have not been checked independently. Read them as marketing figures, not measurements. Second, no event in this calendar publishes its stand prices, and every organiser gives a price only on request. If you plan to exhibit, ask each organiser for a written quote early. That lets you compare the real cost of each fair before you commit.
The main events, by date
Japan International Hemp Expo: 13–14 November 2026, Tokyo
The venue is House of OMOTESANDO, a building in Tokyo’s Omotesando district. The organisers are Asabis Inc. and Green Zone Japan. The expo is the successor to two earlier events, CBD Journey and CannaCon, which began in 2021. It is Japan’s only dedicated hemp and CBD event in this period, and nothing is announced for 2027.
The two days serve different groups. 13 November is the business day, with matching sessions (meetings between buyers and sellers that are set up in advance). 14 November is open to the public. Entry is free, but you must register. Stand prices are available only on request.
Keep the size in proportion. The venue is a building, not an exhibition hall. The organiser’s headline figures are over 7,000 visitors and over 300 participating companies. Those numbers add up every event in the series since it began in 2021. They do not describe a single edition.
Translator’s note: Japan sets very strict limits on THC (tetrahydrocannabinol, the compound in cannabis that causes intoxication) in CBD products. Importing a product also needs an advance check, and the official guidance gives no fixed processing time. Part 2 explains both. If you have not applied already, do not count on a physical sample being cleared before 13 November 2026. Bring documents instead: a product sheet and a certificate of analysis (the lab report on what the product contains). That way you can still hold meetings without bringing product through Japanese customs.
Asia International Hemp Expo and Forum: 18–20 November 2026, Bangkok
The venue is the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC) in central Bangkok. The organiser is N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer. This is the fifth edition, and the event has run every year since 2022. It runs alongside the Asia International Cannabis Expo and Forum. The organiser calls the combined event the only international event in Thailand for the cannabis, hemp and kratom community.
For the 2024 edition, the organiser reported more than 150 exhibitors from 40 countries. Only people aged 18 and over may enter, so bring photo ID. Stand prices are not published.
Translator’s note: cannabis flower (ช่อดอกกัญชา) is a controlled herb under the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health Re: Controlled Herbs (Cannabis), B.E. 2568. That notification has been in force since 26 June 2025. Flower may be sold only with a PT 33 (ภ.ท.33) prescription, covering at most 30 days. Advertising flower and selling it online are both prohibited. If you exhibit, make sure neither your stand nor your social-media posts about the fair advertise flower. The forum guide to advertising and selling rules explains what counts.
Horti and Agri Asia: 19–21 May 2027, Bangkok
The venue is BITEC (Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre) in Bang Na. The organiser is VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific. This is not a cannabis event. The organiser does not list cannabis or medicinal plants among its sectors.
It is on this list for another reason: it is the regional show for growing inputs. These include substrates (growing media such as coco and peat), propagation material (seeds, cuttings and young plants) and post-harvest technology. In other words, it covers what a licensed farm actually buys.
Translator’s note: before you go, list the inputs your farm buys each season and the prices you pay now. At the fair, collect quotes for the same items so that you compare like with like. For fertilisers, check that each product is legally on the Thai market, using the forum guide on verifying a fertiliser in Thailand. For pesticides, use only products registered with the Department of Agriculture (กรมวิชาการเกษตร), and only as the label directs.
Already held: Agential Cannabis 2026, 23–24 September 2026, Bangkok
This event has already taken place at BITEC. The organiser, Agential Events Pty Ltd, called it an Asia-Pacific business-to-business event for medicinal cannabis. It covered every step from genetics and cultivation to extraction, quality and market access. The organiser named growers, executives, policymakers, clinicians and researchers as its audience.
The organiser did not publish an exhibitor or visitor forecast for this edition, and did not publish stand prices. The organisers reported that the previous event, Agential AI AgBio 2025, sold out with 250 attendees. Agential Cannabis 2027 has no date yet.
If you attended, please post a short report below. Say who exhibited, what was useful and what the trip cost you. That helps other growers decide whether to go in 2027.
Thailand: the full calendar
Thailand is the only country in Asia with more than one cannabis event, but the number is falling. Business-to-business activity is now concentrated in two Bangkok shows: Agential Cannabis and the Asia International Hemp Expo. Outside Bangkok, events have stopped or shrunk into community competitions.
The table below also includes non-cannabis trade fairs held in the same period, covering cosmetics, food, food ingredients and laboratory testing. BITEC is in Bang Na and QSNCC is in central Bangkok. IMPACT is the IMPACT Muang Thong Thani exhibition centre in Nonthaburi, just north of Bangkok.
| Date | Event | City and venue | Type | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 23–24 Sep 2026 (already held) | Agential Cannabis 2026 | Bangkok, BITEC | Business-to-business, medicinal cannabis | Organiser’s website |
| 1 Nov 2026 – 14 Mar 2027 | Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo | Udon Thani | Public, with an international trade section | Organiser’s website |
| 3–5 Nov 2026 | in-cosmetics Asia 2026 | Bangkok, BITEC | Business-to-business, cosmetic ingredients | Organiser’s website |
| 18–20 Nov 2026 | Asia International Hemp Expo and Forum | Bangkok, QSNCC | Business-to-business, hemp, cannabis and kratom | Organiser’s website |
| 19–21 May 2027 | Horti and Agri Asia 2027 | Bangkok, BITEC | Business-to-business, growing inputs | Organiser’s website |
| 25–29 May 2027 | THAIFEX–Anuga Asia 2027 | Nonthaburi, IMPACT | Business-to-business, food | Organiser’s website |
| 1–3 Sep 2027 | Fi Asia Thailand 2027 | Bangkok, QSNCC | Business-to-business, food ingredients | Organiser’s website |
| 1–3 Sep 2027 | Thailand LAB INTERNATIONAL 2027 | Bangkok, BITEC | Business-to-business, laboratory and testing | Organiser’s website |
Translator’s note: if you make a processed hemp product or run a testing lab, these specialised fairs may bring you more buyers than a cannabis fair. Before you book a stand, ask each organiser in writing whether they accept hemp or cannabis ingredients. If you plan to show a hemp food or drink, read the forum guide to Thailand’s 2026 food advertising criteria first.
Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo
The expo runs for about four and a half months, from 1 November 2026 to 14 March 2027. It covers 164.8 hectares (about 1,030 rai) of former wetland. The organiser calls it the first international garden expo held on such a site. It is the largest trade-related event in the region during this period. Most visitors are members of the public, but there is also a trade section.
It is not a cannabis event, so do not plan for it as one. If you are a grower in Isan with a line of processed products, though, it is worth a look. It can work as a place to sell directly to the public and get your brand seen.
Translator’s note: flower cannot be advertised or sold online, and it can be sold only with a PT 33 prescription. A public expo is therefore a sales channel for the processed products you are licensed to sell, not for flower. Contact the expo’s international trade section and ask about its exhibitor rules for herbal and hemp products. That tells you early whether your product line can take part at all.
Thai events with no announced date
When the calendar was compiled, these events were still active but had no published date in this period. Keep an eye on them, but do not plan around them:
- Agential Cannabis 2027.
- Phuket Cannabis Cup, fifth edition.
- Chiang Mai Cannabis Cup 2027.
- The next Nudkinpuk fair, a public cannabis fair held at Chang Chui Creative Park in Bangkok.
- National Thai Herbal Expo, 24th edition (a Thai herbal products fair).
- ProPak Asia 2027 (a processing and packaging fair). The venue is confirmed as IMPACT. The organiser has published the dates only inside an image on its website, not as text.
- in-cosmetics Asia 2027.
- Bio Asia Pacific 2027 (a biotechnology fair). The only confirmed detail is that it will share a venue with Thailand LAB INTERNATIONAL. The assumption that it will also share the 1–3 September 2027 dates is an inference, not an announcement.
Set a monthly reminder to check these organisers’ websites. Do not spend money on travel or a stand until the organiser publishes a date as text.
Thai events that have stopped
This is where most event lists go wrong, because an event that has stopped still leaves its old web pages online.
Phan Buriram was billed by its organisers as the largest commercial cannabis and hemp exhibition in Thailand. It took place on 1,200 rai (about 192 hectares) at Chang International Circuit, a motor-racing track in Buriram. Its last edition ran on 25–27 November 2022, after a break during COVID-19. There has been no edition since, and none is announced for 2026 or 2027.
Several other events also ended:
- The Sriracha cannabis and hemp fair in Chonburi ran twice in 2022, then stopped.
- Cannabis Cup Thailand in Bangkok ran only once, in 2022.
- Siam Cannabis Land at Legend Siam, a theme park in Pattaya, ran in June 2022. It was a theme-park programme, not a recurring fair.
- Made in Thailand Cannabis Cup last ran in December 2024, and Breeder Cannabis Cup in March 2025. Both were held in Lam Luk Ka, a district of Pathum Thani province just north of Bangkok.
Events named after “420” (a number widely used in cannabis culture) follow the same pattern. For every one that could be traced in Thailand, the most recent edition was in 2025 or earlier.
Use one simple rule when you find an event online. Look for a dated 2026 or 2027 edition on the organiser’s own website. If the latest edition you can find is from 2025 or earlier, treat the event as stopped.
Competitions that continue: Phuket and Chiang Mai
The only cannabis competitions still running are in Phuket and Chiang Mai. Both are aimed at the public, not at trade buyers.
Phuket Cannabis Cup is run by the Phuket Cannabis Association. Its fourth edition took place on 15 January 2026 at FIRA Phuket. The association’s own news page only goes up to the third edition, and no fifth edition has been announced.
Chiang Mai Cannabis Cup held a 2026 edition called Terps of Life 2. The organiser published the date only on its social-media accounts. Those accounts could not be read directly, so the exact date could not be confirmed.
Translator’s note: the B.E. 2568 notification also applies to flower that is shown or handed over at a competition. Before you enter flower, ask the organiser in writing how the event follows the rules on sale and advertising. Keep their answer, so you have a record of what you were told.
No kratom trade fair in Thailand
Searches in both Thai and English found no kratom trade fair in Thailand, during this period or at any other time. The only results were the 2022 Kratom Plant Act and enforcement notices. One of those notices bans selling kratom leaf or kratom drinks within 1,000 metres of any educational institution.
If you work with kratom, start with the forum guide to Thai kratom law linked above. It tells you what you may sell and where.
No provincial cannabis or hemp fairs outside Bangkok
Outside Bangkok, no cannabis or hemp fair of any real size is still running. Searches were done in Thai, province by province, for these nine provinces: Sakon Nakhon, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Krabi, Surat Thani and Prachinburi. The results were flower festivals, music events and Songkran programmes, and nothing else.
This finding rests on search results, not on an official register of events. That makes it weaker evidence than a register check would be. If you know of a provincial fair, post it below with the organiser’s link and date so the calendar can be updated.
What could change for 2027
Translator’s note: the draft Cannabis Control Act is not law yet. The Cabinet approved the draft on 22 September 2026 and sent it to the House of Representatives. The rules that already apply have also been tightened. The Ministerial Regulation on Controlled Herbs (No. 2) B.E. 2569 has applied since 30 April 2026 and sets stricter licence criteria for cannabis flower. Before you book a stand for any 2027 event, check what the draft Act and the 2026 regulations mean for what you plan to show. Then ask the organiser for its latest exhibitor rules.
If you have a question about any event in Part 1, ask it below this topic. You can also post a visit report in the Events and Conferences section so other growers can plan with real information.
