We checked every country in Asia for cannabis, hemp and kratom trade fairs running between September 2026 and the end of 2027, reading organisers’ own websites rather than aggregator listings. The result is narrower than the industry talk suggests: outside Thailand and Japan, there is not a single verified cannabis or hemp trade fair anywhere in Asia in that entire sixteen-month window. Not one in Korea, China, India, Israel, the Gulf, or anywhere in Southeast Asia beyond Thailand. This is a working calendar for growers and exporters deciding where a travel budget actually returns something, and it includes the events that no longer exist but still appear in search results.
The four events that matter, in order
Agential Cannabis 2026 — 23–24 September 2026, BITEC, Bangkok. Eight days from now. Organised by Agential Events Pty Ltd, positioned as an Asia-Pacific business-to-business medicinal cannabis event covering the chain from genetics and cultivation through extraction, quality and market access. Its stated audience is growers, executives, policymakers, clinicians and researchers. The organiser publishes no exhibitor or visitor forecast for this edition; the predecessor event, Agential AI AgBio 2025, is described as having drawn delegates from more than thirty countries with over seventy per cent senior decision-makers. Stand pricing is not published.
Asia International Hemp Expo and Forum — 18–20 November 2026, Hall 7, Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, Bangkok. Fifth edition, running since 2022, organised by N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer. This is the largest dedicated event of its kind in Asia and the only one that covers hemp, cannabis and kratom together. The organiser targets 300 exhibitors, 10,000 buyers and more than 1,500 forum participants for 2026; the 2024 edition is recorded at 300 exhibitors and 7,340 visitors. Entry is restricted to those aged 18 and over. Stand pricing is not published.
Japan International Hemp Expo — 13–14 November 2026, House of OMOTESANDO, Tokyo. Organised by Asabis Inc. with Green Zone Japan, formed by merging two earlier events, CBD Journey and CannaCon. Two distinct days: 13 November is the business day with matching sessions, 14 November opens to the public. Be realistic about scale — the venue is a building in Omotesando, not an exhibition hall, and the organiser’s headline figure of 7,000-plus visitors and 300-plus participating companies is cumulative across the whole predecessor series since August 2021, not one edition. Admission is free with registration; stand pricing is by enquiry only.
Horti and Agri Asia — 19–21 May 2027, BITEC, Bangkok. Organised by VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific. This one is not a cannabis event and the organiser does not list cannabis or medicinal plants among its sectors. It is on this list for a different reason: it is the regional show for growing inputs, substrates, propagation material and post-harvest technology, which is what a licensed farm actually buys.
Thailand in full
Thailand is the only country in Asia with more than one cannabis event, so it is worth mapping properly. The pattern that emerges is a contraction: business-to-business activity has consolidated into two Bangkok shows, while everything outside the capital has either stopped or shrunk into community competitions.

The Udon Thani horticultural expo deserves a note of its own. It runs for four and a half months on 164.8 hectares of former wetland, the first international garden expo held on such a site, and it is the single largest trade-adjacent event in the region during this window. It is not a cannabis event and should not be treated as one, but any Isan grower with a processed product line should look at it as a retail and visibility channel rather than ignore it.
Thai events with no announced date
These are alive but have not published a date inside the window. Watch them rather than plan around them: Agential Cannabis 2027; Phuket Cannabis Cup fifth edition; Chiang Mai Cannabis Cup 2027; the next Nudkinpuk edition; National Thai Herbal Expo twenty-fourth edition; ProPak Asia 2027, whose venue is confirmed as IMPACT but whose dates the organiser has not put in text; in-cosmetics Asia 2027; Bio Asia Pacific 2027, confirmed only as co-located with Thailand LAB.
Thai events that have stopped
This is the part most lists get wrong, because a dead event leaves its old pages online.
Phan Buriram was the largest commercial cannabis and hemp exhibition Thailand has held — 1,200 rai at Chang International Circuit, reported at over 150,000 attendees and more than 3,200 businesses. It ran in April 2019 and again on 25–27 November 2022. There has been no edition since, and none announced for 2026 or 2027.
The Sriracha cannabis and hemp fair in Chonburi ran twice in 2022 and stopped. Cannabis Cup Thailand in Bangkok ran once, in 2022. Siam Cannabis Land at Legend Siam Pattaya in June 2022 was a theme-park programme, not a recurring fair. Made in Thailand Cannabis Cup last ran in December 2024 and Breeder Cannabis Cup in March 2025, both at Lam Luk Ka in Pathum Thani. Every 420-themed event we could trace in Thailand has its most recent edition in 2025 or earlier, and the main community listing site currently shows no upcoming events at all.
The competitions that do survive are in Phuket and Chiang Mai, and both are consumer-facing. Phuket Cannabis Cup, run by the Phuket Cannabis Association, held its fourth edition on 15 January 2026 at FIRA Phuket; the association’s own news page stops at the third edition, and no fifth has been announced. Chiang Mai Cannabis Cup ran a 2026 edition under the name Terps of Life 2, but the exact date could not be extracted from the organiser’s social accounts, which is the only place it was published.
There is no kratom trade fair in Thailand. We searched in Thai and in English and found none, in or outside the window — only the 2022 Kratom Plant Act and enforcement notices, including a ban on selling kratom leaf and kratom drinks within a thousand metres of any educational institution.
There is also no provincial cannabis or hemp fair of any meaningful size still running outside Bangkok. Searching province by province in Thai across Sakon Nakhon, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Krabi, Surat Thani and Prachinburi returned flower festivals, music events and Songkran programmes, and nothing else.
Japan, and the rule that decides whether a sample can travel
Japan has exactly one dedicated hemp and CBD event in the window, described above, and nothing announced for 2027. But Japan matters more for its rules than its trade fairs, because those rules decide what an exporter can physically carry.
The amended Cannabis Control Act, Law No. 84 of 2023, was promulgated on 13 December 2023 and took effect in two stages, on 12 December 2024 and 1 March 2025. Three things changed. Cannabis-derived medicines became usable. Use itself became a criminal offence, which it had not been before. And regulation moved from a parts-of-the-plant basis to a THC-content basis, with the cultivation provisions split out into their own statute.
The residual Δ9-THC limits now in force are strict and differ by product form: 10 parts per million for oils and fats and powders, 0.10 parts per million for aqueous solutions, and 1 part per million for everything else. A product above its applicable limit is classified as a narcotic.
Importing CBD products is governed by a voluntary advance-confirmation procedure through the Narcotics Control Department. Voluntary does not mean optional in practice: the certificate of analysis must carry seven specific items, including the product-form classification that determines which THC limit applies, the analytical method, and both the limit of quantification and the limit of detection. Processing takes roughly one to two months. The official guidance states plainly that a favourable paper answer does not protect you if customs finds a controlled substance on physical inspection.
For anyone planning to exhibit in Japan, read those two paragraphs together: a physical sample needs a compliant certificate and realistically needs the advance confirmation, and one to two months of processing has to sit inside the trade fair preparation schedule, not beside it.
The rest of Asia is empty, and the reason is legal
Sixteen countries and territories were checked for dedicated cannabis, hemp, CBD or kratom events: Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Israel and the Gulf. None has a verified event in the window.
Two names that used to anchor the region are gone. CannX in Tel Aviv still shows a 2022 edition as its next event. CannaTech’s domain now redirects to an unrelated site. India Hemp Expo last ran in February 2024 in Bengaluru and its website’s certificate has expired. Hong Kong’s ecosystem disappeared outright when CBD was classified as a dangerous drug on 1 February 2023.
The legal picture explains most of the emptiness. Singapore retains the mandatory death penalty for trafficking above threshold quantities and bans CBD; Indonesia and Malaysia both retain capital punishment for trafficking offences. The Philippines passed a medical cannabis bill through its House of Representatives in August 2024, but it has not cleared the Senate and is not law. Korea permits CBD medicines only as licensed imports, with an industrial hemp regulatory sandbox at Andong that has not opened to foreign business-to-business trade. China permits industrial hemp cultivation only in Yunnan and Heilongjiang and bans CBD in cosmetics and food. India allows industrial hemp by state licence but keeps flower and resin prohibited. The United Arab Emirates issued a hemp law in December 2025 permitting industrial and licensed pharmaceutical use at or below 0.3 per cent THC, while banning personal use and most consumer applications — a new market with no exhibition infrastructure yet.
If the goal is to meet Asian raw-material buyers rather than attend a cannabis event, three shows outside Thailand and Japan are worth more than any of the above: Vitafoods India on 9–11 February 2027 in Mumbai, which the organiser puts at 220-plus exhibitors and 10,000-plus visitors and which carries private label and contract manufacturing; DUPHAT on 30 March – 1 April 2027 in Dubai, where the organiser states 32,000-plus attendees and that 70 per cent hold purchasing authority, arriving as the new Emirati hemp law beds in; and CPHI and PMEC India on 23–26 November 2026 in Delhi and Greater Noida, whose catalogue includes natural extracts.
Note also that Vitafoods Asia has left Thailand: the 2027 edition runs 21–23 September 2027 at MITEC in Kuala Lumpur, not Bangkok.
What we could not verify
Stated plainly so nobody builds a plan on a gap. Exhibitor and visitor numbers throughout are organiser-published and not independently audited; trade fair attendance figures are marketing material as much as measurement. No event in this entire calendar publishes stand pricing — every one of them quotes on enquiry, which is a finding in itself and a contrast with European shows such as IPM Essen that publish a rate per square metre.
The exact date of the Chiang Mai Cannabis Cup 2026 edition could not be established because the organiser published it only on social platforms that could not be read directly. Thai provincial coverage rests on absence of evidence: we searched in Thai across nine provinces and found nothing, which is weaker than a registry check would be. Bio Asia Pacific 2027 is confirmed only as co-located with Thailand LAB, so the shared date is an inference and not an announcement. ProPak Asia 2027 has its venue confirmed but its dates exist only inside an image on the organiser’s site. Whether the Health and Wellness Japan show keeps the CBD section it ran in 2025 is unconfirmed for its 2026 and 2027 editions.
