The flowering boosters are concentrated phosphorus and potassium with no nitrogen, which makes them easy to overdo: they are a supplement bolted onto a complete base during a defined window, and running them long or heavy shows up as burnt leaf margins rather than as extra weight. And the silicate supplement is a strong base: Grotek’s own instructions say it must never go into nutrient concentrate, so it is pre-diluted, added to the tank before the nutrients, and the pH is checked afterwards rather than before.
