Money going into cannabis and hemp ventures in Asia, and the questions that should be asked before it does. Farms and processing, retail and distribution, laboratories and equipment, and the licence-dependent business models built on top of all of them.
This is a sector where the regulatory position is the business model. In Thailand the flower is a controlled herb under the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health Re: Controlled Herbs (Cannabis), B.E. 2568; extraction above 0.2 percent tetrahydrocannabinol sits under the Ministerial Regulation on Cannabis or Hemp Extracts B.E. 2569; the draft Cannabis Control Act has not been passed. A plan that assumes any of those will move in a particular direction is a bet on legislation rather than on a business.
Two things belong in every thread here. Nobody on this forum is licensed to give investment advice, and the useful contribution is evidence rather than encouragement: the licence, the certificate, the audited numbers, the offtake agreement. And a project without a named regulator and a named buyer is at the idea stage regardless of how the deck describes it.
There are no reference articles in this board yet; discussion and due-diligence questions from members are what it needs first.
