Welcome to Consulting Services

Welcome to the Consulting Services category! Here you can find and discuss cannabis consulting services, from business planning and licensing to GACP and GMP compliance. GACP (Good Agricultural and Collection Practices) is the standard for how a medicinal plant is grown, harvested, dried and recorded on the farm. GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) is the matching standard for processing and packing in a clean facility with full records.

Topics to discuss

  • Cannabis business consulting
  • Cultivation and agricultural consulting services
  • Legal and licensing advisory
  • GACP, GMP, and export consulting
  • Marketing and branding consultants
  • Reviews and experiences with consulting firms

Translator’s note: In Thailand, cannabis flower is a controlled herb under the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health Re: Controlled Herbs (Cannabis), B.E. 2568, in force since 26 June 2025. Research, export, sale or processing of a controlled herb without a licence can lead to up to 1 year in prison and/or a fine of up to 20,000 baht (Section 78 of the Thai Traditional Medicine Protection Act B.E. 2542). Licences for cannabis flower are handled by the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (กรมการแพทย์แผนไทยและการแพทย์ทางเลือก) in Bangkok and by the provincial public health office (สำนักงานสาธารณสุขจังหวัด) in other provinces. Licences for extracts above 0.2% THC are issued by the Thai FDA (อย.). A consultant can help with paperwork. The legal responsibility still stays with you as the licence holder.

Translator’s note: Advertising and online sale of cannabis flower are prohibited in Thailand. Any marketing or branding advice must work within that ban. See the advertising and selling rules before you pay for a campaign.

Before you hire a consultant

  1. Ask for a written scope, fee and timeline. This shows you exactly what you are paying for and lets you compare offers.
  2. Ask which licences or certificates the consultant has helped clients get. Then check the licence holder and number with the issuing authority. This confirms the track record is real.
  3. For GACP or GMP claims, ask who audited the site and ask to see the certificate. A real certificate names the certifying body. A consultant saying “we make you compliant” is not a certificate.
  4. Walk away from promises of a “guaranteed” licence or a “fast track” through contacts. The same goes for offers to get a foreign-owned company a licence for extracts above 0.2% THC. Those licences go only to Thai juristic persons that are not “foreign” under the Foreign Business Act B.E. 2542, state agencies and the Thai Red Cross Society. If a licence is revoked, the company and its directors, managers and other responsible persons cannot get a new one for two years.
  5. Search this category for other members’ experiences before you sign anything.

Rules for consultants posting here

Consultants posting here should clearly state their qualifications, experience, and contact information. In addition:

  • Disclose any link to a brand, supplier, laboratory or farm you recommend.
  • Do not post reviews of your own firm.
  • No shop links, sales links or cannabis flower advertising.
  • If you want a dedicated board for your firm, ask the admins for a member sub-forum.

Received an offer and not sure about it? Post it below. Say what service it is, the price range and what was promised, so other growers can tell you if it sounds right.
