Everything else on this forum assumes the ground covered here. Light, water, air and nutrients in roughly that order of consequence; the difference between the vegetative and flowering phases and what triggers the change; and the ordinary arithmetic of pot size, watering frequency and root volume that decides how forgiving the rest of the grow will be.
Two things worth knowing before the first run. Nearly every beginner problem is over-attention rather than neglect, and overwatering, overfeeding and constant repotting account for more losses here than pests do. And the plant is slower than the panic: a change made today shows in new growth over days, so changing three things at once means learning nothing from any of them.
