CANNA Fertilizer Guide: Terra, Coco, Aqua & Boost — Specialized Nutrients for Every Growing System

CANNA Fertilizer Guide: Terra, Coco, Aqua & Boost

1. CANNA — Brand & Philosophy

CANNA is a Dutch fertilizer brand renowned for its research into substrates and specialized nutrition for each type of growing medium. Unlike many other brands, CANNA designs separate formulas for soil, coco, and hydro — no one-size-fits-all approach.

This is CANNA’s greatest strength: each product line is optimized for the pH, nutrient retention capacity, and CEC of its corresponding substrate.

2. CANNA Terra — Soil Nutrients

  • Terra Vega (NPK 3-1-4): base nutrient for the vegetative stage
  • Terra Flores (NPK 2-2-4): base nutrient for the flowering stage
  • Both are liquid, single-part formulas (no A+B needed)
  • Dosage: Veg 3–5 ml/L, Bloom 3–5 ml/L
  • Target EC: 1.2–1.6 (veg), 1.4–1.8 (bloom)

3. CANNA Coco A&B — Coco Coir Nutrients

  • Two-part nutrient used THROUGHOUT both veg and bloom — no need to switch bottles
  • Coco A: 2–4 ml/L (always mix A first)
  • Coco B: 2–4 ml/L (mix B after, stir well)
  • A:B ratio is always 1:1
  • EC: 1.0–1.4 (seedling), 1.4–1.8 (veg), 1.6–2.0 (bloom)
  • Important: Always add A to water first, stir thoroughly, THEN add B. Mixing A+B simultaneously will cause Ca to precipitate.

4. CANNA Aqua — Recirculating Hydroponic Nutrients

  • Aqua Vega A+B: 2–4 ml/L per part (veg)
  • Aqua Flores A+B: 2–4 ml/L per part (bloom)
  • EC: 1.2–1.5 (veg), 1.5–2.0 (bloom)
  • Formulated to stabilize pH in recirculating solutions

5. Additives

  • Rhizotonic: root stimulator, 4 ml/L (week 1) → 2 ml/L → 0.5 ml/L
  • Cannazym: enzyme that breaks down dead roots, 2.5 ml/L throughout
  • PK 13/14: PK booster, 1.5 ml/L for only 1–2 weeks mid-bloom. DO NOT use for more than 2 weeks
  • Cannaboost: enhances flower quality, 2–4 ml/L from week 2 of bloom

6. Feeding Schedule (Coco A&B)

Stage Week Coco A+B Rhizotonic Cannazym PK 13/14 EC
Seedling 1–2 2 ml/L 4 ml/L 2.5 ml/L 0.8–1.0
Veg 3–5 3–4 ml/L 2 ml/L 2.5 ml/L 1.2–1.6
Early Bloom 6–7 4 ml/L 2.5 ml/L 1.4–1.8
Peak Bloom 8–10 4 ml/L 2.5 ml/L 1.5 ml/L (1–2 wk) 1.6–2.0
Late Bloom/Flush 11–12 2 ml/L → plain water

7. Tips & Common Mistakes

Tips:

  • Always mix A first, then B
  • Coco: water run-to-waste with 20–30% runoff
  • Check EC runoff: if > 2.5, do a light flush
  • CANNA Coco + RO water: add CalMag Agent 1–2 ml/L

Mistakes:

  • Using PK 13/14 too early or for more than 2 weeks → lockout
  • Using PK 13/14 AND Cannaboost at the same time → PK overload
  • Mixing A+B simultaneously → Ca precipitation
  • Using Terra for coco or vice versa
  • Not measuring EC runoff
